DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION
Giving Perspective a Podium
Our people are at the heart of our agency. We believe that to ensure our people can do the best possible work, we must work to create spaces of safety, bravery, and confidentiality.
Our 22Squared diversity and inclusion journey began in 2016 during a time when America and the world was on edge. Because of a contentious General Election and racially charged deaths occurring during the summer, we found ourselves at odds. Some of our employees were hurting because of the deaths and felt unseen, while other employees were either unconcerned or unaware.
At that moment, we knew we needed to make a change. We brought in a diversity and inclusion expert to hold focus groups and help us get to the root of the problem. One of his key recommendations was to have the agency form a Diversity and Inclusion Council. That council, formed of people of various races, ages, professional backgrounds, experience levels, and disciplines, has become a driving force in our agency. We use this council as a sounding board to keep us moving forward and to ensure all of us have a safe space to be our best selves.
