The Project Engagement Lead manages client business relationships, partnering closely with Dendro Principals to scope and manage strategic projects and identify opportunities for growth.  This includes networking with clients to create references and open doors to decision makers in their networks, finding and organizing incremental strategic project opportunities for Dendro, and mining for opportunities to extend Dendro projects into integrated creative and/or media opportunities for other Guided by Good sister companies.

The Project Engagement Lead should have an entrepreneurial spirit with an eye toward innovation and a comfort in trying new things.  They should be comfortable working with senior leadership while also managing project details as part of a small but growing team.  


ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Have a deep understanding of Client business and structure and articulate challenges and opportunities to Dendro leadership
  • Experience managing research projects and brand positioning work
  • Are able to form trusted Client relationships at all levels, but particularly at the senior executive level
  • Provide high-level business/category context to arm the team with relevant knowledge to lead the work to success
  • Easily identify opportunities for incremental projects and assignments with the agency’s goals in mind
  • Understand how to creatively solve business challenges and champion work that will best deliver success
  • Able to advocate for resources and develop innovative solutions to staff plans for efficiency, profitability and client satisfaction
  • Consistently demonstrate an analytical mindset to ensure relevant measurement plans are in place to demonstrate value
  • Willing to tactfully challenge the norms and have the tough conversations
  • Project and/or annual scope development, with proven ability to manage to scope
  • Manage hours and financials of the Client business, understanding pacing and profitability 
  • Motivate and inspire high performance by modeling leadership
  • Are aware of the health of the team at all times and will advocate on their behalf
  • Delegate (not micromanage) and ensure team is supported and set up for success

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Facility to navigate the push and pull of Client and Agency goals to find the balance and success for both
  • Deep working knowledge of all Agency disciplines 
  • Proven ability to develop cross-department partnerships for the benefit of the team and the work
  • Builder of compelling and high-quality presentation content (pricing and project proposals, project wrap summaries, etc.) that influences the audience and results in agency growth and client satisfaction
  • Confidence, authority and level headed decision making 
  • Willingness to share a point of view
  • Leader by example, giving credit for wins and taking accountability for missteps 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS) required
  • 10+ years of Agency experience
  • Proven history of exceptional performance in previous account management roles
  • Proven track record of developing high-performing talent
