Website Analytics & Tagging Product Owner (Consultant)  

CONTRACT TERM: June – October  2022

 
OVERVIEW  

The Website Analytics & Tagging Product Owner will lead site-side and media tagging implementation of a new website for one of 22squared’s clients. This role will work closely with key members of Analytics, Strategy, Account Management, Tagging, AdOps and Data Management to coordinate the definition of business and data acquisition requirements. The Product Owner will manage the day-to-day responsibilities of the website analytics team to implement, validate, and approve site tags, tagging documentation and relevant processes.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES  

  •  Consult with internal and client stakeholders to own, develop and maintain business requirements and solution design documentation  
  •  Oversee tagging implementation planning, strategy and documentation to ensure website tagging and tracking requirements are met  
  • Direct and manage internal and external analytics developers during the tagging implementation phase, including data layer development, media pixels, site-side Adobe and Google Analytics, and server-side tagging  
  •  Troubleshoot technical issues and anticipate potential challenges through collaboration with a variety of stakeholders within the Analytics, Media, Account Management and Client teams  
  •  Prioritize and deliver all tagging requirements to internal and external analytics developers  
  •  Oversee QA and acceptance of all tags implemented on the site based on the business requirements  
  •  Oversee reporting requirements and report configuration  
  •  Partner with Technical Program Management on project process, scope and timing for delivery  
  •  Partner with internal and client teams to drive efficiency, improve and document the data acquisition process  
  •  Develop repository for relevant documentation and processes  
  •  Ensure ongoing success with deployed data acquisition solutions for analytics and media stakeholders  

QUALIFICATIONS  

  • 7+ years of associated work experience  
  • Experience overseeing end-to-end website tagging implementation for complex, consumer-facing websites, including but not limited to analytics strategy, requirements gathering and documentation, and implementation  
  • Experience documenting processes and training stakeholders on best practices, ideally in an Agency setting  
  • Hands on experience developing and debugging web beacon, pixel, and tag management solutions  
  • Experience with tag management systems (Adobe Dynamic Tag Management, Ensighten, Google Tag Manager, Tealium)  
  • Hands on experience with media pixel tagging site-side analytics tagging best practices  
  • Deep knowledge of Data Layers and best practices for implementation  
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, with an emphasis on technical writing skills  
  • Experience with Agile as a project management approach and related software (JIRA & Confluence)  
  • Strong understanding of web analytics tools (i.e., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, etc.) as they are used with marketing and media efforts  
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities at once and shift priorities seamlessly with minimal oversight; flexibility and adaptability as projects and priorities evolve  
  • Outstanding organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to meet established deadlines  
  • Self-directed and self-motivated with positive, eager-to-learn attitude 
  • Preferred programming skills/languages: HTML, CSS, Javascript, JQuery
