OVERVIEW

We’re an integrated department that implements content through every channel – TV, radio, OOH, web, apps, and creates memorable Brand Experiences.  We are looking for a Director of Business Affairs who will be a champion of the creative, as well as a thought leader who can help bring our ideas to life in the most innovative way.

The Director of Business Affairs is responsible for all aspects of the business management for the Production department.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Estimating and paying talent session and use payments for TV, radio, digital, industrial, and new media projects per the SAG/AFTRA commercial contract guidelines.
  • Consult with producers and client leadership teams helping guide them in matters relating to union talent.
  • Assist in day-to-day business management of the production process budget preparation, talent payments, pre-bills and cost analysis.
  • Network clearances of scripts, storyboard and finished commercials.
  • Facilitate IP reviews for all agency work including social media, digital and traditional broadcast.
  • Negotiate licenses with music producers and publishing companies.
  • Negotiate and formalize agreements with suppliers, performers and celebrities.
  • Secure licenses, releases, permits and permissions as necessary during production.
  • Manage purchase order process.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of experience.
  • Advertising agency experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree is normally required, but previous experience is more important.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, solution-based environment.
  • Experience with all performance unions and pertinent guidelines. Extensive experience with SAG/AFTRA commercials contracts, codes and requirements.
  • Extensive experience with estimating talent session and use payments for TV, radio, digital, industrial and new media projects.
  • Experience working with Talent Payroll Services including Highland Talent.
  • Advantage Software experience preferred but not required.
  • Good negotiating skills, people skills, detail oriented, mature and responsible.
