22squared is seeking a data-driven Account Director to lead strategic business planning, marketing campaign success and financial stewardship for a measurement-driven financial services client. Candidates should possess strong team supervision and development skills, demonstrate proven success in integrated account growth opportunities, and deep experience managing digital-centric integrated campaigns against conversion goals. The Account Director manages client financials including annual projections, pacing and profitability, communicating regularly with the Group Account Director on general account health, resource requirements and business opportunities.


Business Leadership

  • Serves as strategic business leader and trusted client advisor on all aspects of the client business
  • Works with Group Account Director and cross-functional team to develop annual planning
  • Leverages deep knowledge of agency offering, industry trends and client business needs to drive growth opportunities
  • Demonstrates confidence, authority and level-headed decision-making
  • Earns trust with authentic desire to understand and enhance the business and relationship needs
  • Offers an eager and open ear, sound judgment, proven business acumen and a range of relevant approaches to various issues and opportunities

Financial Stewardship

  • Monitors cross department hours, at project and scope level, to ensure appropriate pacing and efficient delivery of in-scope deliverables; communicating status and concerns to Group Account Director

Performance Measurement

  • Consistently collaborates with Analytics and Media teams to ensure overarching business goals and campaign measurement requirements are being met
  • Drives cross-functional team to constantly innovate on measurement tools and strategies, ensuring client understanding and alignment with measurement evolution roadmap
  • Communicates frequently with Analytics and Media teams to ensure data hygiene and performance requirements are being implemented, monitored and maintained appropriately for reporting requirements, facilitating immediate client communication and resolution when needed
  • Consistently demonstrates an Analytical mindset, assessing performance, connecting dots across data sets and driving solutions   

Talent Management and Development

  • Maps agency resources effectively to client needs, ensuring appropriate communication flows and coverage across the business
  • Supervises all junior account team members, outlining and effectively communicating expectations, and providing in-the-moment, on-the-job training as opportunities present themselves
  • Recognizes and acknowledges strengths and wins; identifies talent gaps, development opportunities and performance issues
  • Communicates regularly with Group Account Director on status of the talent of the team and partners with Group Account Director on how to address
  • Motivates and inspires high performance by modeling leadership: prepared and pro-active; thorough and accurate; fair and balanced; a willingness to do whatever is required; accepting – but learning quickly from – missteps

Creative Stewardship

  • Consistently challenges cross-functional team to identify and extend creative opportunities
  • Critically assesses and provides valuable input to all creative work to ensure delivery on business objectives, anticipating and communicating potential client feedback
  • Understands how to creatively solve business challenges and champions work that will best deliver success
  • Partners with client, strategy & content to develop and ensure descriptive, high quality creative briefs that result in outstanding creative

Production capability

  • Working with cross functional team, oversees production process for quality and efficiency
  • Identifies opportunities for improving processes, timelines or communication across production needs (digital, broadcast, etc)

  • Ability to assess and shape all agency outputs to adhere to or exceed the level of quality expected by agency and client alike
  • Ability to adeptly maintain a predominantly phone-based relationship
  • Diligence in preparedness, anticipation and responsiveness
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Keynote, Google Office Suite 


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 8+ years of experience in client leadership with a clear trajectory from entry to senior-level in an agency setting
  • Proven track record of exceptional performance in previous account management roles (experience with financial services is preferred)
  • Proven history of success managing measurement-driven marketing campaigns
  • Deep understanding and working history with performance-based Analytics
  • Reputation for innovative thinking and entrepreneurial spirit in all areas of business
  • Strong history managing client budgets and financials
  • Mastery of creative and production elements in all media channels, ability to impart knowledge to rest of team
  • Deep knowledge and experience with all types of media planning and buying principles
  • Keen understanding of social space & interest in media/culture
  • Proven track record for growing high-performing talent through the department
