Overview

The Media Planner will manage, help to develop and execute, strategic paid media campaigns for a retail banking client. The role requires a broad range of skills, including collaboration with an integrated agency team to execute audience driven media strategies executed across various media channels / platforms. This individual will identify ways to connect client briefs and business objectives with targeted media tactics that deliver on campaign goals and designated KPIs. The role also requires media activation, campaign analysis and client billing support / budget stewardship. This individual must possess strong attention to detail and will be proactive at cultivating research to aid in the delivery of innovative work to drive the clients business forward.

Reports to the Associate Media Director

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Confers with senior media team members, Content Strategy, Client Leadership and/or Clients to plan and execute media objectives and strategies for advertising campaigns. 
  • They will immerse themselves in all aspects of planning paid media campaigns with a strong understanding of implications for clients owned channels and earned media outcomes, background in TV, digital and Social media preferred.
  • Leverage first and third party data to develop audience first strategies / approaches to most effectively reach / engage with target consumers / customers.
  • Leads the development of RFPs, issuance to media partners and the evaluation of proposals for client consideration.
  • Manages internal approvals of media buys and campaigns, leads the implementation of campaign assets and manages timelines / key client deliverables.
  • Maintains and archives media plans, client briefs, insertion orders and measurement plans / reporting.
  • Utilizes syndicated research tools to inform campaign development and support tactical recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to analyze complex data and translate to actionable insights to apply to clients business strategies including the assessment of marketing KPIs, media mix models and aiding with the authoring of competitive reporting.
  • Well versed in traditional and digital media, has a strong understanding of interactive marketing concepts and understands how content is best supported through media and the strengths of corresponding platforms.
  • Has experience with Facebook Ad manager and third party Ad serving tools such as DCM (Double Click Manager).
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of Media Planning experience
  • Strong math and analytical skills
  • Works well in a team environment, effective collaborator / team player.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets (including the creation of Pivot Tables) and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of media research tools including comScore, MRI / Simmons, Media Tools, Media Ocean/Prisma, Competitive tools such as Kantar (including SRDS) and Nielsen Ad Views as well as IMS tools.
